Remember a Day – Movements 1, 2 and 3 now available online

Remember a Day, featured on BBC Radios 4 and 2, and a collaboration with Doreen Abbott, a person living with dementia, is now available below. It is for mezzo soprano, cello and electronics and was premiered at Peninsula Arts Contemporary Music Festival 2015, introduced by the Alzheimer’s Society and conducted by Simon Ible:

Movement 1 “Doreen’s Day” – Doreen’s to do list was set to music to aid memorisation:

 

Movement 2 “Cobeneldopa” – One of Doreen’s medication doses was set to music with the help of a computer music algorithm:

 

Movement 3 “Ring Round” – Ringtones whose pitch relates to each digit in the phone number are used to construct a tune.
